Election Day
We all knew that the 2016 presidential elections were going to change history. Our students were engulfed in this election like never before. Anxieties and hopes were high. We at MCJHS took this opportunity to teach our students about current events and the elections. Grades 5-8 randomly picked one out of four candidates to represent. They campaigned rigorously on their behalf-making posters, giving out candy, writing speeches, and holding mock debates. On November 7th, a day before the National elections, MCJHS held its own election. Unlike the results of the 8th, our students elected Hillary Clinton!
Here are the statistics:
- Hillary Clinton 68 %
- Gary Johnson 14%
- Donald Trump 10%
- Jill Stein 8%
