Multicultural Day
On December 20th, 2016, Muslim Center Junior High School conducted Multicultural Day. Each grade explored the culture, language, customs and cuisine of a certain country. Students were able to expand their knowledge and understanding of other ethnic groups through this event. They dressed up in clothing to represent the country they researched accompanied with the food of that country as well.
During lunch, students tried food from different countries that they may have never tried before. This was a wonderful experience not only for students but for teachers and parents as well. Each grade gave a presentation on their assigned country.
Some students brought in items, while others preformed a skit or even sang cultural songs. Overall, Multicultural Day was a very eye opening experience for students, teachers and parents. They were able to learn and discover many new things about cultures around the world.
