Shafaq Syed (Nursing Home Visits)

This school year we took a small group of students (approximately 5-6 students) from grade 6-8 every week beginning January to visit a sick patient in a nursing home. The patient, Shafaq Syed, is a young Muslim woman diagnosed with neurological disorder called Paretic Ataxia. Due to her illness she has limited movement, however this does not prevent her from having a positive outlook. Shafaq is an amazing individual who strives to inspire people. Her main goal in life is to revert people to Islam. She loves it when people visit her and spend time with her.
